OCALA CHIROPRACTIC AND INJURY

Chiropractic is a form of health care that is drugless, non- invasive, and actively promotes health. Chiropractic supports the concept that the maintenance and proper functioning of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems can provide for better health. When a chiropractor works with a patient, the cause of the patient’s physical problem is addressed and lifestyle factors that may affect the problem (such as diet, posture, exercise, and others) are modified to speed recovery and prevent re-occurrence.

Wellness Care

Wellness Care means “optimum health”. This care begins when you make the decision to take responsibility for your own health. Whether you need to correct your diet and weight, become more physically fit and exercise more, control genetic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes or aging disorders or simply want to slow the aging process as much as possible, we can help you achieve your unique needs to experience optimal wellness.

Once you have a consultation and express your unique goals, a program is outlined to help you reach your desired result in the quickest manner possible.

Every treatment at Ocala Chiropractic and Injury begins with setting goals that you would like to achieve. Common treatment goals for patients in wellness care include increasing overall function and promoting wellness.  After you set your goals, we educate you in proper biomechanics along with diet and nutrition to facilitate optimum function and promote a long and healthy life

Because wellness care is established once you are free from pain or discomfort, many of the passive modalities such as cryotherapy, traction therapy, electrotherapy, ultrasound, etc., are unnecessary. Therefore, the therapies that we generally employ in this phase of care are limited to chiropractic manipulative therapy along with soft tissue work as clinically indicated. Occasionally, massage, vibration and kinetic therapy will be incorporated into your plan, also, as necessary.

Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy

After a serious injury, illness or surgery, you may recover slowly. You may need to regain your strength, relearn skills or find new ways of doing things you did before. This process is rehabilitation.

At Ocala Chiropractic and Injury, our goal oriented, hands-on approach is extremely successful in helping you restore and regain mobility physical function, strength and endurance, as well as rebuild motor skills needed to perform activities of daily living.

Physical therapy, also knows as physiotherapy is based your examination, orthopedic test, and subjective complaints. Based on your unique needs, your treatment may employ various physiotherapeutic treatment options. Most  treatment plans include hydrotherapy to increase circulation and relax musculature and ligaments, hot and/or cold therapy to help heal muscles, mild electric muscles stimulation to decrease pain and inflammation.

Physiotherapy goals often include:

  • General pain management
  • At home and in-office exercises that aid in preventing injury or re-injury
  • Building or rebuilding of muscular endurance
  • Balance/coordination training
  • Re-education and training on proper and preventative posture
  • Improve sport-specific skills and training
  • Functional training to improve activities of daily living
  • Aerobic/cardiovascular reconditioning
  • Strengthening to improve joint stability and muscle function
